  1. Excpect to suddenly become little more than a brick in the wall, that is what if ound hadest. In my middle school it was quite small so all of the teachers knew who i was and that i was a good student. When a high school teacher looks at you could be the most unruly child inthe school for all that he knows. Also you have to be very pro- active. I hope your self motivaton skills are decent because teachers wont chase you up for important revision/coursework they wont really give a **** about you. Lastle excpect lots and lots of people. Keep your friends close because there is saftey on numbers avoid older kids they wont 'haze' you like they do on TV but they will try to make you feel un-comftorable. Dont be afraid to be witty to them though because they respect that and are more likley to leave you alone.

  2. Don't expect that all upperclassmen are mean. They are made out to be. You won't go through any hazing or anything like that. Expect it to be harder than middle school. And a lot faster paced.

  3. Don't try to hard to be popular. Your unpopular friends will think your fake and hate you. Don't attempt to make everyone like you. Again because you will come off as a fake ********* and be despised by the observant, will have a bright future kids. Don't get a boyfriend too soon. And if you do, don't stay with him for to long. You should keep your options open because there are a lot of great guys out there, you shouldn't settle for the first one.

Most importantly, just have fun and enjoy yourself

  4. Expect to feel very short and small compared to the upperclassmen. I remember thinking how mature and old they looked!

I know everyone always says 'be yourself' and as contrite as it sounds, it really is the best advice for anyone at all times. Stay true to yourself at all times and you will always have your integrity to feel proud of.

Don't be too shy around the kids from different middle schools, by the end of the year most of your friends will probably be from different schools.

Think about joining a club or some other after-school activity, it's a great way to make new friends and feel comfortable in a new school.

If you can, take a summer school class, though it may be too late now, but that's a good way to get used to the grounds and meet people.

When you are walking in the halls getting from class to class, keep your head up and make eye contact with people, don't hang your head, walk proud! And if you are walking through the halls with a pass or when it's not too crowded, STILL make eye contact with other kids walking the halls or even say hello. Be friendly to everyone. :0)

Just be yourself and be confident, don't let anyone push you around or pressure you to do anything you don't want to. If you start strong in the beginning it'll be easier to finish strong!

  5. When going into highschool expect alot ALOT of ppl. Expect jocks with their varsity jackets, Gothic nerds, fabulous drama queens, senior boys with a goal for girls, freshmen girls who are trembling with fear(lol), and teachers who like half their class, hates the other half. Expect homework and work and bad and good grades. Expect friends and enemies. Expect guys trying to get at you (lol). Expect highschool.
