  1. If you are staying close to the Docking area, San Pedro, and your hotel has a shuttle, take the shuttle.  From LAX take a shared van shuttle.  Taxi should be a last resort.

  2. taxi

    or have someone drive u

  3. It really depends, if you booked airfare through the cruise line then the cruise line will have a guide waiting there for everyone, and they will take you on a shuttle to the ship, and make sure you get there okay. If you are going down the day before which I highly recommend look at the area you are cruising to whihc in this case is LA and book a hotel wiht a shuttle to the cruise port, and if you have to taxis in LA can be very exspensive so if you are staying at a hotel that doesnt have a shuttle a taxi could be expensive and make sure you know the EXACT location and tell the driver exactly and make sure you know where your ship is and dont give your luggage to the wrong crew members. If you are at the airport it might be easier to take a cab but you will have to look at the specific things that are offered. Consider time with taxis if you are considering taking them so you can make your ship before departure.

  4. BUY TRANSFERS

  5. I would go with the cruise line transfers. Most offer private or bus/van transfers. You can usually get a private transfer for even less than a taxi and the experience is a little nicer. The bus/van is usually the least expensive way to go. Taxis usually rack the rate up pretty fast so it will likely be the most expensive.

Call your cruise line and they can give you the options they have for transfers. If you choose to get your transfers on your own, just be sure to use a good company especially if you will have limited time to get there (if you used a travel agent, ask them, they may have a company they work with, my agent does this). Some hotels near the port also offer a free transfer, so if you have a pre-night, it doesn't hurt to ask.
