Was just curious since I'm a waitress and am usually pretty good,so was wondering, for me when I go out the tip I leave starts at 5 bucks it could either go up or down depending on how good the service is,how busy it is,how nice the server is,etc lol being a server I look at all these factors. So what do yall think!?

  1. For good service - 15 to 20%  Being busy is not my problem but how the serve handles it is.  On main rule, do not let anyones glass be empty.  Also, when someone is paying by cash, never ask them if they want any change.  Allways tell them you will be right back with the change.

  2. Beyond obvious things like getting the orders right, etc. I like it when:

-They offer to split the bill if we have a few people at the table.

-They refill my drink before I have to ask for it (BIG points there!)

-They don't make me feel rushed to get up and leave.

  3. I look for good eye contact, getting the order that I wanted, friendly smiles, checking on me once after she's done ordering the meal and once after I get the meal. I'll give them a minimum of $10 if they can achieve all of this.

  4. I leave a 20% tip no matter what. I leave more than 20% if the bill was low or if I really liked the server.

  5. 2 dollars

  6. so many things,,, just remember there is no one thats perfect

  7. It depends on how good the service is.  I will always tip more for outstandingly good service.  I tip the minimum for so-so service.

  8. If now mater how bad things are going or how busy the place is, she is nice. and doesn't mess the order up.

  9. If the server is friendly, promp, and checking on you just as long as its not too often to where they get on your nerves.
