When going to test drive a car, what is the term of the contract you sign to test drive WITHOUT a salesman?

I want to test drive a car without having to deal with a salesman in the vehicle. I have done this once before but I have since forgotten the term. It was something to the effect of a "buyer's car agreement" or "buyers lease agreement." I want to sound like I'm not a complete idiot when I go into the dealership.

We just had to give them a copy of our driver's license and insurance.  We drove it off for the night and brought it back the next day.
