  1. From my experience if the conditions are right they will grow bigger to a point and then starting going bad.


  2. They will keep on growing.  It's not like an expiration date on milk, its a guide to how long it takes to produce mature, full sized carrots.

  3. Mine keep getting bigger the longer I leave them in the ground, but they are sweetest and most tender if you pick them when they are younger, like the "baby carrots" in the grocery store.  I even left one in the ground for 6 months, and it was fine (it got hidden under another plant).

  4. They  keep growing until you pick them until they bolt or start to go to seed.  they will eventually die and rot.  Carrots are best when about thumb size,  yank them out and then eat them.

  5. Wait until the first frost kills the tops.This will give them the max growing time.
