When growing habanero peppers, do they need to be picked before they will turn yellow or red.

Mine are the right size, but stay green on the plant. Should I pick them and let them set as with some other peppers. This is the first time I have grown Habaneros.

  1. they will turn color eventually.  mine were always orange, and they all turned pretty much at the same time.  be very careful, thoser suckers are hot!


  2. If you really want them hot, wait. Also to get the hottest habaneros you need to stress them, that is cut down the watering for a week or so prior to picking.

  3. Doesn't matter .Picking will only result in more peppers if you have enough growing season left.
