  1. what they said

  2. For a full count they will have to remove 8 pints, so if they use pint bottles there will be 8. Homer could have answered this for you.

  3. Come here sometime i will count it for you that how many they are.

  4. Depends on what they are doing a blood clount for. I had a blood count done a few months ago & they took two bottles of blood. Good luck!

  5. only one Bail is enough.  They do a blood smear and that's how they do the count.

  6. Three to four vials if they are looking for something specific.

Routine full blood count is usually one vial.

  7. they take it all and sell it to vampires

  8. ask the doctor

  9. As a couple people have indicated, only one small tube is required (and the top of it is lavender).

  10. They take 5 small bottles of blood.

  11. One usually per test. So one for full blood count, another if they are testing for lipids, another if they are teasting for glucuose - up to a maximum of 4 normally x*x

  12. 5,000 gallons of blood

  13. Assuming you are in the UK a Full Blood Count or FBC is taken in one small vial with a purple top. It's about 4 - 5mls; not much more than tablespoon full!

The vial itself contains something called EDTA which stops the blood clotting.

A FBC will check for anaemia (i.e. lack of iron), white cell count (protection against infection etc) and platelets (for clotting). It's a very routine test.

I would assume it would be the same anywhere in the world.

    Hope this helps.

  14. if you mean a complete blood count (cbc)- they will usually only take a small lavender topped blood tube  (about 4 to 6ml- approximately 1 teaspoon)---- now they may also decided to draw blood for a full metabolic panel (to check liver, kidneys, etc) and that is a red or marbled top tube and they will take about 8 to 10ml of blood for that (about 1 1/2 to 2 tsps of blood for those test).---- it will really depend on what all tests are ordered

  15. What a lot of completely crappy answers!  Those who have mentioned the lavender top 4 ml tube are correct.  Everyone else is not.

For little babies, a cbc can be done with less blood than that, but for adults, they take 4 ml.  Less than a teaspoon.

  16. no bottles....probably just a couple of vials of blood for the full array maybe 4

  17. Usually seven vials.

  18. one tube ,

  19. about half a bottle

  20. When venturing to your physician for such things, it is dependent on the the tests one wants done on you blood. There is a vial taken for each different type of test, to the maximum of 7.

  21. My god, most of the responses are clueless or misunderstood the question.

Anyways for a full blood count - that is called a CBC (complete blood count) - they just need a small vial of blood - which is purple topped and is 4ml sized.  You can find a pic on yahoo answers (search: cbc lavender tube).  They are counting the components of your blood - not how much blood you have.

Now, if they are testing for other things as well - they might take a couple extra tubes.  But it still isn't very much.  All in all, a blood draw will take no more than a couple minutes start to finish.

    It isn't so bad.

  22. They arent called bottles, they are called vials, and they only take like a pint, same as when you donate blood, only takes like 50 mins

  23. You could have about 19 samples taken for a fairly complete evaluation.

  24. CBC is 2 to 3 tubes

  25. If "they" are vampires, probably as many as they can.  If "they" are doctors, probably only a small fraction of your total blood supply.

  26. They just take not more than 500 ccm.
