When hearing God Save The Queen?

Do you feel God Save The Queen just a song to you? Or do you stand in respect, or feel pride that it symbolizes Great Britain to the world when it's played, and symbolizes the country and respect the people in the rest of the world?

And, if you feel it's just a song, what would be your positive sugestions to improve the government and the crown?

Sincere comments only. If you're BNP, state you comments in a civil manner. If you're anti monarchy, you should be able to express your comments in an educated manner without four letter words. If you can't, don't bother to answer.

  1. I feel God Save the Queen should be respected for what it is a National Anthem. I would stand out of respect but I would expect them to stand for my national anthem.

  2. I love that song!

  3. I immediately think of the s*x Pistols version...so, no I don't stand in respect.

apparently from all the thumbs down, we werent supposed to answer honestly...

  4. it's a good thingwe stll hear it until these days...

  5. Well I hope God saves the Queen, every time I hear it. Yes, in a way I feel it's a symbol of the UK. Pride? Maybe..

I feel much more "patriotically stirred" when hearing the Eurovision theme or La Marseillaise...just something to do with the tune..or is it the rhythm?

  6. To make matters worse, when I hear it, I think "My Country 'Tis of Thee".

I know it's "God Save The Queen/King", but it's all twisted for me

  7. I am Australian, and proud to be British, I do not recognise 'Advance Australia Fair' as my anthem and I do and will always stand for "God Save Queen"

  8. No. I sit back and think why we have a Queen.

  9. I'm an American. It doesn't mean anything to me. No disrespect intended.

  10. OH. I thought you meant the s*x Pistols vesion.

  11. I stand with pride, I am English/British and proud, she is my Queen and she symbolizes my country what is was and what it can be more so than any politician

I know our history has some bad things in it but it also has some good we shouldn't shy away from our history but embrace it and learn from it. Royals have been part of our history for hundreds/thousands of years I think that is amazing and it makes me proud to be British

  12. Im from a Commonwealth Country and the Queen of England is head of state.....though we have our Own National Anthem......and Haka.....

God loves me and you  as much as he loves the Queen....and I dont feel any less precious because im not British.......

I understand its all part of English Patriosm however

I recognise God as Royalty not Man ( or Woman ).

  13. To me it sounds like this:

My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, to thee I sing, land of my Father's pride, land where the pilgrims died, from every mountainside let freedom ring... so for me it has another meaning altogether

Next time I hear it I will think of you and your question
