Question:

When / how often to get service on a 2008 Honda Accord?

I have a little over 10,000 miles on the car and I got a oil change at about 7000 miles. I called one dealership and they told me I should bring it in at 10,000 miles for service. Another dealer told me not to bring it in until the service minder light comes on. If this is true, does anyone have an estimated mileage of when I should definitely bring my car in for service? What do they check for at a 10,000 mile service and is it even needed? Some people online tell me not to even bring it in until it hits 30,000 miles. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance?

  1. Check the operator's manual that came with the car and get service as recommended in the manual.

  2. look in your glovebox and locate the owners manual. it has all the scheduled maintenance with mileage intervals. oil changes every 3k, your service other than oil change is due at 15k. that would be to check the car all over and replace oil filter, oil, and cabil air filter. again get the manual and it will tell you exactly what to do when

  3. Follow the maintenance minder, there is no reason to do an oil change or any other service sooner than you need to or you will just be wasting money, hence why they have the maintenance minder in the car
