  1. When you wish to pay for your own meal it's a very good idea to let it be known in advance.  You can then arrange to have your own check.  However, if you are invited as a guest for a meal it is not considered to be polite at the end of meal to suggest you "go dutch".

  2. If the bill is paid by yr friend.. u could say to yr friend... can I pay mine or how much did I consume ?

  3. Probably word that question a little differently because it is offensive (Dutch people are no more stingy than any other nationality). How about just asking, "What is my portion?" Please expect to add 15% tip and your local sales tax to the food/beverage total.

  4. lets go dutch would be the proper way to say it, instead of lets do dutch or lets dutch. You can also just saw, "how much do i owe you"?

  5. Lets go dutch means pay for your own meal. Or you could ask to see the bill and see what you owe. Also you a responsible for a portion of the tip.

  6. to the person who's grabbed the bill, say "how much was mine?" remember to include the tax amount (of your state) and consider tip.
