  1. If you are replacing a car, then you can take the tags from your old car and put them on the new one. If you are buying from a dealer, they should provide a temporary tag.

As far as insurance, as long as you have an active policy that covers your purchase, then you are ok as long as you have proof. For instance, if you are taking a loan, the lender will require to provide full coverage insurance prior to delivery.

If you are buying with cash, then you need proof of liability insurance Good luck and I hope this  helps.

  2. The dealer does it all for you so don't worry too much about temp plates etc but it's important to shop around a bit for insurance as it could save you even a grand or even two a year.

If you are a new driver just get a cheapo car that you can practice with then you can get insurance liability only.

With this insurance If you damage it they won't pay to fix it but since it's a cheap car it won't matter and that's the cheapest insurance policy you can get to be legal. You are covered and if you get into a crash and it isn't your fault then you get paid by the other party.

Or you can get an expensive car and pay for a fully comprehensive insurance if you wish, but it may cost you three times as much.

Whatever you do, shop around, there are tons of insurance quoting comparison sites around, it's free to get quotes so you might as well use them.

    there's more in google.

If you buy an oldish Corolla, they are cheap on gas, good luck.

  3. Ah...buying a new car is fun.

If you're buying from a dealer, they usually give you temp plates when you buy the car so you can drive it home. As soon as you buy the car, call the insurance company and get insurance (use the one you already have. If you don't have one...shop around a bit. I use State Farm). Then you'll need to get temp plates. After the temp plates, you get the actual plates.

You can't drive a car without plates, and you can't drive a car without insurance (well...you can do both...but it's illegal).

  4. any car lot that you buy your new car will do this for you, if you don't have insurance go ahead and get it i recommend nationwide, you can buy insurance even if you don't have a car, to even test drive a car you have to have a license and to have a license you have to have insurance, the plates and upgrading your insurance will be taken care of by the car lot, just make sure that you go to a car dealership with a good rep. the major car lots with a backing by a large brand such as nissian or mazda are usually good
