When i change colours in knitting the colour changes on a differrent side each time HELP!!!?

im knitting a scarf and when i change colour it changes on a different side each time so it gets this weird line thing and looks ugly and im changing the colour right so how do you change colour on the same side each time????????

  1. that is completely normal. what it is that your stripes have an odd number of rows.  if you want the stripes to change on the same side just make sure that your stripes have an even number rows.


  2. Garter stitch works this way and it shows how the stitches interlock.  Always change colors at the same edge of the knitting.  Yes, you will have that odd two color row on one side of the work, there's nothing you can do about that, other than knitting something double wide and seaming it.

  3. It is easy to remedy that.

    Changing the color always on the same side eliminates your problem.

    You may also sometime consider knitting a scarf on a round needle.

    Next, yes always change when the yarn is at the same end, or else half your stitches will be one color and the upper loop-part will be the other, Funky!!!

    always change the yarn at the same side. that way you'll be guarenteed to ahve good success!
