  1. Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Manage".  Under "Services and Applications" highlight "Services".  On the right pane, find the "Print Spooler".  Double click it, then change the startup type to "Automatic" Then hit the "Start" button.  If the start button is greyed out, then hit "Stop", then hit start, then hit ok.

  2. your spooler service is not running.

    go to start-->setting-->control panel-->administrative tools-->services

    start the printer spooler services

    startup type should be automatic and logon as local system.

    After changing the settings again if it shows same error next time, that means your system is effected with viruses.

  3. Open Computer Management. (start, programs, administrative tools, computer management)

    In the console tree, click Services.

    In the details pane, double-click Print Spooler.

    Click Start to start the service.

  4. Sounds like you may have shut off the spooler process, or accidentally blocked it through your firewall or spyware/virus protection programs.

    Go into your firewall settings and see what things you have blocked, you're looking for a program that is connected to your printer.  When you find it, change it from blocked to allow.

    If you have multiple firewalls then you'll need to check them all.

    If it's not the firewall(s) then it could be getting blocked by your antispyware/antivirus, so go into those programs, go through your blocked lists, and make sure the spooler application is not on the list of blocked items.

  5. sounds like the spooler service is not running.  click on your start menu and then in the "run" option type in "services.msc".  this will bring up a list of all the services installed on your machine.  scroll to find the one that states "print spooler" and make sure it is running.  If you double click on it it will give you the options to stop or start it.  Make sure it is also set as "automatic" to start when you start up your machine.

  6. click on "Start", click on "Run." type "services.msc" in the prompt. Find the "Printer Spooler" service and right-click it. Now select "START."
