  1. Personally, I think the white LEDs, if that's what you're talking about, is kind of annoying. And I don't think the new headlights are too bright anyways, at least not the stock ones. Nobody tells to you look straight at the headlights haha. I guess brighter headlights allows you to see better, especially in country roads where there are no street lights.

  2. Modern headlight bulbs are brighter due to "advances" in bulb design. Is that good?

My opinion is NO. They cause too much glare for opposing vehicles.

The market controls what type of bulbs are fitted, some sort of "advantage" is claimed for extra bright lights.

    But why?

Most driving is done in built- up areas. There are street lights, you can see where you're driving. Experiments done have shown that having bright lights coming at you can actually "blind" you to hazards such as pedestrians. Better visibility can be had by driving in well- lit areas without lights (it's illegal though!).

In open countryside on rural roads, good lights are essential. But I have found, in my own ecperience, if you use bright lights or "driving" lights, as you come to a crest in even mildly undulating country, your eyes, being accustomed to the too bright lights, fail to see what is directly in front of you! Where a road drops away from a crest, it is PITCH BLACK.

I found it very disconcerting not being able to see the road right in front of me.

So I drive with ordinary lights. My low beam is set at pretty minimum distance in front of me. High beam remains well out in front. However, coming to a "dip" in a country road, I can dip the lights to see much better, the road directly ahead at that point!

Bright lights, in my opinion, are a hazard in themselves, for everybody on the road. I think you will agree.

  3. To see better and reduce accidents but I hate them as while, just cant see when they are coming at me.....

  4. I agree they are annoying and could be  very dangerous.

Last time I checked most European counties require an orange or pink tint to the bulb or lens of the headlight; for Safety Reasons.

  5. I agree with you. we never seem to be happy with what we have<<
