when i first get the zipit do i have to pay the 1 year thing when i first get it by the way i am gettin the zipit2 if that helps when u answer

If you buy the ZipIT for $49 you must sign up to activate it.

If you buy the ZipIT for $150 you can use the IM's free forever as long as you have Wifi. You can use texts if you signup for the monthly fee.

So yeah, if you plan to buy the cheaper one, you need to signup before you can use it.
