  1. All birds need stimulation, and one toy in there cage will not give them the amount of stimulation they need. Provide them with at least three toys in there cage and switch these toys out weekly when cleaning their cage. Do not put so much toys in that they cannot move around there cage, but provide enough toys that will stimulate different ways of play. For example, on toy could have yarn knotted to provide them to be ale to preen something other than their selves; another toy  for wood chewing.

Unless you are breeding birds, then there is no reason for a nest box. Do not use twigs, for these could contain bacteria on them and make them sick. However, give the birds perches from pet stores in there cage to sit on of different materials. My  bird total has 3 wood perches, 1 rope, and one concrete. I rotate these; they are not in her cage at the same time, only two.

Most birds sleep on perches but my sun conure likes to sleep in her happy hut on her back every night. She is funny!

I hope this helps and good luck with your new birdies!

  2. get as many as you can and at least 2 or 3 should do the trick and you have to rotate them or they will get bord http://www.freewebs.com/charliefeathers/... has tons of info to help you care for budgies also i advise you to get only 1 if you wish to tame them and bond with it

  3. Most parakeets won't nest if they have a nice perch.  I wouldn't worry too much about that.  Toys help them to keep from being bored so things like a mirror and a thin rope with some wooden beads on it are nice.  If you don't have a lot of room for extra toys, you can always switch things around. Have six toys but only one or two in the cage at a time.  That can be fun for them as well.

  4. Well birds like little climb stuff, get them a swing and a big cage with fun little nooks and stuff for them!!

  5. ya gety them as many toys as you can afford. like 2 or 3 new ones a month untill they have lots and stitch them everytime you clean the cage so they dont get bored of the ones they have. you remember when you were little how you had "old" toys that just sat there and when you got  NEW ONE you wanted to play with it? i guess birds get bored of old toys to.
