When i go out for dinner I never have dessert I always ask for a cheese board anyone else do this??

I am amazed that anyone would find this odd.I am not very fond of sweet tasting things and always have the cheese board. It has never even occurred to me that this could be seen as strange.

I know that is the typical ending to a formal dinner; but, none of the restaurants I go to even offer one.  I'm in the Midwest of US and eat at places such as the Olive Garden, Steak and Shake, Chili's, Friday's, Red Lobster, Chinese Garden....

That would be a great thing to have because we don't get nearly enough dairy in our diets.  Need that calcium.  And, most of the desserts that are offered are horribly sweet:  brownie with fudge sauce kind of thing.

Good choice. Cheese is good for you and you don't have to worry, too much, about the sugar overload. I hope you're having a good wine with it too.

Good on ya, mate.  Cheese boards are healthy and the most common last course here.  Usually have some apple slices, too.

Mmm, cheese boards are delicious. I love trying new and interesting cheeses, especially with some nice port wine or tawny. Also, you know you're in a quality restaurant (usually) when they offer a cheese board. It shows that the chef is trying to offer a classic dining experience, (or that he's pretentious :)

Only problem is, I'm usually too full to enjoy a cheese board after my meal. I have, on occasion gone to a nice restaurant and sat at the bar to order just a cheese board and bottle of wine.
