  1. has it always took that long?if not you might have just gotten an update.when it restarts after downloading an update you'll get the black screen while its finishing the install. if it dose it all the time you need a faster computer to run vista.got to Control Panel\System and Maintenance\Welcome Center click on the "show more details" on the top right. then look at the windows experience index if the number is lower than 2.0 you need to click it and see whats slowing you down. its rating is the slowest component in your pc a 5.9 is the best you can get anything under 2.0 and you shouldn't be running vista

  2. Just a slow PC, upgrade the RAM and CPU and Video Card or downgrade the Operating System, so Vista to XP or XP to ME. By the way, there's a kit you can download to make XP look like Vista so you get better performance but won't miss the fancy Aero interface.

  3. I get the same and it is the splendid video intelligence technology.

  4. Get Rid of Vista and go back to xp pro 64

  5. It's most likely down to low RAM/CPU speed on your desktop. Microsoft Vista is a resource-hungry operating system, and if your machine does not meet the requirements (and somewhat exceed them), then you will experience this sort of behaviour.

    HTH.

  6. throw vista at the face of BILL gates and get ur money back

  7. That's normal behaviour

  8. What is the size of your ram...

    cough cough

  9. It's all the unnecessary micro$oft guff loading when you log in.

if you are uncomfortable with regedit - get someone with knowledge to go to

HKCU Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run - remove the bullsh*t

HKLM Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run - remove the bullsh*t

HKLM Software Microsoft Windows NT CurrentVersion Run - remove the bullsh*t

You will find Adobe, Quicktime, Nero and a few other things will also load thier own stuff in there.

Remove all the HP rubbish thats wastes CPU talking to your printer too.
