Question:

When i open my bedroom and bathroom door, they make this "un-sticking" noise, why?

i suspect it could be due to painting it many times, so the paint is thick around the door, therefore the paint sticks to itself

this unsticking noise is pretty loud, depending on how long the door has been sitting closed (the more it's been closed, the greater the noise) and is wakes up everyone most mornings

is the only solution to remove the paint and give it just one layer? thanks

  1. unfortunately yes.

  2. If the door is wood it may have expanded from summer weather. You can sand off the other layers of paint & re-paint it, or wax it like the other person said.

  3. Get a stick of wax (paraffin) and work it along the edges of the door where it's sticking. Yeah it's probably the paint combined with the door jamb being a bit tight.
