  1. You will receive the owner's title.  The lender will simply sign the release of lien on the face of the title.  You can take the title to your DMV and have it replaced without the lien for a small fee.  However, it's not necessary.  Just put the title in a safe deposit box or some other safe place where you have limited access to it.  Don't leave it where some idiot can steal it and forge your signature.  And make sure you sign the face of the title as soon as you receive it so that you can prove it's yours later when you sell or transfer the vehicle to someone else.

  2. They will send it to you.The dmv doesn't need to know anything about it.Just put it away in a safe place. The last car i paid off i had to ask them to send it to me.
