  1. YOU NEED TO EAT!!!

You need to give fuel to your body cause Footy takes out heaps of energy. You need to play at your best not feeling lethargic.

  2. So, what are you saying? If it is a night game then you don't eat for nearly two days?

If I have understood your question correctly then you obviously wouldn't be much use to your team. Unless you are a full forward that doesn't lead & just stands in the goal square. Are you 7ft tall? One needs energy to play football & food provides that. Illegal pills do the same though!!!

  3. I think you could do with a consult with a nutritionist. If your footy is suffering then you know why! If you are good, imagine how much better you could be with a stable diet!

  4. Sounds like you're nervous.   You should try and eat something or you'll be legless by the end of the game.

  5. You need carbs especially, not to remind you of your other food groups. Your probably nervous. Is there a reason why you don't eat. It's not like your cutting weight for wrestling. It's football, what possition do you play?

  6. Mate if this is not another joke we get n here, you are crazy.

besides where would you be playing a night game, you certainly aren't an AFL player, wouldn't get away with it. in case you are fair dinkum, which i doubt, eat some baked beans with wholemeal toast. eat something for Christ sakes boy.

  7. you should eat more on a day you are playing football maybe not eat up to 20 mins before but yes it is a problem

  8. filling up on your stomach is the key to performance when playing

  9. I've been told by a former top athlete to have a big dinner (pasta) the night before a day game and only to have something small the next morning (muesli bar)

However I always eat the day of a game - I learnt the hard way after training at Williamstown beach, and threw up.

  10. yea, where do you get your energy from to play the game? food gives you energy so find out what your teammates eat b4 or after games and do likewise. its stupid to play on an empty stomach.

  11. What the h**l? dnt you feel sick if you dnt eat? if i ddnt eat breakfast before i had an athletics event on then i would throw up i learnt the hard way.

  12. I'm the same, except i FORCE myself to put somthing into my stomach. i find that i dont feel like eating at all in the leadup to the game. This is what i do tho, it may help.

Get a tin (or little fruitbox style things) of SUSTAGEN SPORT. the chocolate flavour is good, and you can mix it with either milk, or water.

And you'll be surprised at how much more energy you have during the game. its got a good amount of protein and carbs etc. and its really easy to swallow down. easier than food.

even if you dont want to drink much, put a HEAP of the powder into a small amount of milk or water.

you would be surprised tho, that you definatly are not alone here. a few of my teammates dont eat at all before games, like you, then others absolutely stuff themselves with heavy food, others just use a couple of supplements, like a protein bar and a gatorade or somthing.

everybody is different. if you play well and dont get fatigued and CAN run and hit for those two hours, doing what you are doing and NOT eating, then just keep doin what you're doin.

and enjoy those well deserved beers and chicken parmy after the game!!!

  13. i eat a banana about an hour before a game, it is great and i dont get full. you need help

  14. You are obviously a liabillity then, to your team !!
