  1. A few things:

-Stay hydrated with either water, amino vital, gatorade, or similar.  Lay off alcohol or sugary pop.

-Warm up before your round.  Stretch, loosen up your limbs, and pop a couple Advil if needed.

    -Get plenty of rest.

-Avoid eating anything high in sugar or fat before your round.  No Timbits!  Think fruit, some lean protein, maybe granola.  I usually bring an orange and a protein bar with me.

-If you're playing the same course...analyze where you get into trouble.  Consider a different strategy on the holes in question.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Just because you're in good physical shape does not necessarily mean that your "golf muscles" are in great shape. Even though a guy like John Daly looks like he's fat and out of shape, he can probably play 36 holes a day every day for a month, something most people cannot do.

Go buy a weighted club, and swing it 50-100 times a day, 3 days a week. Just kind of add it to your regular workout, or after school routine or whatever. If you spend a lot of time in a gym, there are specific exercises to target golfing muscles too. Just google them.

I'm not saying your need to put a ton of time in, you just need to get used to swinging a club at full speed 50 times a day. It shouldn't really take you more than a few months.

If you're getting worn out, just do as others have said. Stay hydrated, specifically with sports drinks if you can. Stay away from soda. Eat a light and healthy meal before a round. Take a couple of banana's or power bars to eat during the round as well.

  3. You're probably calculating your 18 hole score after you've played 5 holes. You're thinking to yourself that if I play as well as I have the first 5 holes I'm going to shoot 80 today and then when the big numbers start to come you get disheartened. and lose the concentration and enthusiasm you had when you started. Just play a hole at a time and don't let a mistake bother you. Accept the fact that mistakes are going to happen and learn from them. It's an 18 hole round not a 5 hole round.

This has nothing to do with physical conditioning. This is about mental conditioning.j

  4. try and eat healthy before your round. im your age too. it really does help. when your out their playing do your best not to focus on your swing mechanics

  5. If you are 16, get in better shape , physically and most of all prepare to play the game mentally. This challenge is a shot by shot situation where you do not worry about score. Your objective is to develop a consistent swing whereby you will get similiar yardage for every 5 iron hit, every full pitching wedge hit, etc. Then knowing the yardage of shots left to the green you can select the proper club.  This leads to consistency in performance. Consentrate on every shot you hit, from drive to last putt.

  6. Dont Drink beer.

    Stay hydrated with powerade

Play regulary to build up stamina

Dont play mind games with yourself and stress out at the same spot.

Ride in a golf cart, dont walk.

Take Tylenol or alleve before you go and warm up.

  7. Get something to eat or drink before the round. It usually helps me finish my 18 hole round.

  8. Try carrying a lighter bag or take some unnecessary stuff out of your bag that you may not need for the day ex) umbrella, extra balls, clothes, waterbottles

  9. you need to be in top physical and mental shape to score exceptionally well on the golf course, just the same as any other sport.
