When i plug in a device it doesnt show up on my computer. Can anyone tell me whats wrong ???

it might be the wrong cord, what are you plugging in, try to use a different cord, or just go buy a new one.

If that device comes with a CD Driver, then run the CD and install the driver first. So many plug n play devices nowadays that windows can not identify them anymore...if Windows has a generic driver, then that device should appear in "my computer", but may not function properly.

So:

1. Install the device driver, maybe from the CD, or search and download the driver from the internet.

2. Restart your computer and at the same time connect the device. Windows harware wizard should be able to detect that device because the driver is already installed..
