I'm 18 and ever since taking strong Ibuprofen i've had stomach problems, and this was like 4 months ago now.

My doctor said i have Gastritis because the Ibuprofen has proberbly irritated my stomach lining, but she never did any tests for it i only had an Ultrasound on my Gallbladder and Pancreas which came back clear, so i'm going back next week cos i'm sick of all this worry!

When i press the area above my bellu button it's uncomfortable and feels like theres something beneath my skin, which is scaring me!

If my stomach lining is irritated would it feel like this if i pressed on the stomach area that was?

Or if i had an Ulcer?

But wouldn't my symptoms be getting worse or be worse if it was anything serious?

I'm very slim and don't have alot of fat on me so i dunno if what i feel is normal or what :S

The pain/discomfort i get from it is on and off, i usually get bouts of it from a few days to a week then it calms down for a few more weeks.

I do get hiccups all the time and a bit of indigestion but nothing like i did get when i first had it, it has calmed down alot.

But i suffer from constant Anxiety so i dunno if thats making it worse, cos i'n trying to figure it out if it comes when i'm having a bad week of Anxiety.

Any ideas?

I'm worried :(

  1. Your best bet is to be as specific as you can when speaking to the doctor and to ask for testing to check on any possibilities of what might be going on.

    Good luck!

  2. First write down everything you just told us here. That way when you are stressed at the Doctors office you can read the list of symptoms to her.

It does sound like a hernia though.

A hernia is when the muscles separate for some reason and the intestines poke through the hole a little.   NOT FATAL!!!

Definitely uncomfortable though!    Good luck, remember write a list of symptoms to give to the Doctor while you feel calm, and before the visit.
