  1. sounds like your breaks need changing - we hae one on our fleet as a company car and it has the same fault - didnt happen all the time just sometimes - as brakes sometime wear very unevenly

    hope this helps

  2. How old is it ?

It sounds like your Anti lock or ABS. The BOSCH ABS system does vibrate the brake pedal when active.

Go to a Bosch Service centre, which are also OFT approved, and they will plug it in to the computer. Could be that needs reprogramming.

  3. If I understand your question correctly the problem is not when you are pressing the brakes but when you have released them?

You have also said that the pads/shoes are ok, the brake fluid level is fine. So that only leaves a couple of potential reasons for the problem, first if the car has high mileage there may be wear on the bushes on the brake peddle. You can check this by pushing the peddle from left to right with your hand, if the peddle moves then its time to get some ned bushes from VW.

The other potential reason for this is a problem with the brake servo, vacuum is applied from the inlet of the engine to the brake servo. Check to make sure that the hose that runs from the servo to the inlet is still in good condition and not twisted.

Turn the engine off, pump the brake peddle five times until the peddle goes rock hard, then with your foot still pressed hard on the peddle start the engine. If the brake servo is working correctly the peddle should move smoothly downwards.

Last but not least there could be a problem with the seals in the brake master cylinder, if all else proves to be ok you are best of taking the car in to a brake centre to have the cylinder changed as its not really a DIY job to repair.

    Ja.

  4. First answer seems most likely - when the anti lock brake (ABS) system cuts in, under heavy braking the pedal will 'kick' back as the ABS operates. This is normal, but in future you should read your handbook.
