They were in there for about 3 min and they just swam around each other. Is it suppose to happen immediately or does it take them some time?

  1. Don't do it that is soooo mean!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. thats just cruel.  don't do that.

  3. What the h**l are you doing that for?  Setting up an animal to fight is cruelty whether it's fish or roosters or pit bulls.

Please separate them and give them to someone who will take care of them.  And get some help before you are labeled a sociopath.

  4. It's only the male bettas that are territorial so maybe you don't have two male bettas.  Pet stores often sell female bettas with their male bettas so maybe you got two females or one male and one female.  Some bettas sold in stores are very young and may be immature.  If the bettas are not strong and healthy, this will also affect their fighting response.  A better idea is to place a glass divider in the tank so the fish can not hurt each other but will be able to see each other.  If they are males, they will eventually start to flare their gills and spread their fins as they defend their territories and send warning signals to their opponent.

  5. why the h**l would you want your fish to fight!!!! thats sick. you should be happy there not attacking each other and that there friends.
