Yesterday i got a Trojan Horse... I was scanning with Avast and it alert me that i had it... And for some reason i was scanning with Super Anti Spyware Removal and it found the same one... At the top it said System Volume Information i think.. and a lot of numbers...

And a System Volume Information file was locked when i ran AVG!!

Is it the virus??

  1. cos your in safe mode guy, try going on starteing windows with the OS.

  2. They are locked because the system is using them. They are also locked in normal running, which means they can NOT be infected. This is system protection built into Windows. It has NOTHING to do with stolen machines! Since they are always protected they do not need scanning.

  3. You need to disable system restore temporarily. System volume information is where it keeps the restore point information. Viruses to tend to sneak in there.

  4. its locked becuz yur in safe mode its so like if your comp gets stolen then no one can access teh locked fiels through safe mode

  5. its beacause safe mode doesnt let some files work. try it out of safe mode.

  6. It was probably locked because it was windows was using it.  To unlock it, basically run your windows in safe mode (hold f8 on bootup) and run the scan from there.  That should get rid of it.
