  1. I just had this happen at my house. Just about the only way to fix it is to get at putty knife and some joint compound, fill the chips, then let it dry overnight, sand the next day and paint over the sanded/chipped areas. It's a lot of work and it sucks, but it's the best way to make it look halfway decent. Good luck!

  2. Pull the tape off before the paint drys.  There might be a better way but this worked for me.

  3. touch it up with leftover paint. Next time, take off the tape while the paint is still wet, that way it won't pull any off with it.

Or, if you mean it pulled off paint that was under it, next time wait for it to dry longer before applying the tape...or avoid tape all together by using some kind of a straight edge and painting carefully where the colors meet.

    Good luck.

  4. painters tape--the blue stuff- works for me.

Maybe you put the pint on too thick at the tape line and it thats where you had the problem.

I usually pull the tape when the paint gets tackey,,,,before it dries.

  5. Sand the chips lightly.  Touch up the line without tape if you can, and if you cannot, be sure to brush the paint on the tape so that it is not too thick and remove the tape before the paint dries.  Good luck.
