and yes i did hold the hold button and home button

  1. hi the spoon whos avertising that stupid website did the same for myquestion. i appears i have or now had the same problem. i cant get past this white text.

    hold down the power and the home button for TEN SECONDS

    then release the power and wait...and wait(while still holding the home button)

    have itunes opened aswell. ur ipod will be recognized and restored

    JUST happened to me there now:) good luck
