  1. Most of the time, it means your sodium/electrolyte level is low. Try to drink some sport drink and take some calcium, that will take care of it.


  2. do you stretch before running?? make sure you do before and after!!

  3. stretch before you run! when you dont stretch, you get cramps. try doing lunges, and quad and knee stretches, you can get some great ones offline. and maybe youre running too hard. start out with a warm up jog, then go into the more intense running. and if the cramps continue, take a day off from running and rest your legs.

  4. Your shoes really don't have a large affect on calf cramping. Your legs are cramping up because you are dehydrated. When you are dehydrated the blood in your legs is thicker and can't move thru your veins as easily. When you are hydrated, your blood is thinnner and moves thru very easily. Also be sure you are stretching after you run. And doing drills before you run.

  5. Cramps are not always caused by dehydration, and I can guarantee that static stretching will do nothing to eliminate the problem (and really, it doesn't help anything).

    I recommend getting a potassium and magnesium supplement, this will often delay the cramps, but not eliminate them completely. High amounts of Vitamin C and eating plenty of bananas can also help a lot more than just hydrating yourself will.

    Chances are, there will be no way to eliminate your cramps completely, most of this is genetic.

  6. stretch before and after. it'll stop after about 2 weeks

  7. Quite often leg cramps are caused by dehydration.Increase the amount of water you consume before running.Stay away from sodas or other sugary drinks. they only compound the problem.
