Question:

When i run my left calf muscle tenses up really bad?

I'm pretty active and work out four to seven times a week for months now, so i know its not soreness in muscles.

i really like to run, but my past few work outs i ha vent been able to.

i cant run more than half a mile it seems before the pain it to unbearable.

and i stretch before and after i work out.

can someone please tell me whats wrong? and how can i fix it?

  1. I know how you feel, and i know exactly whats wrong with you'll calf muscle. You defiantly pulled the muscle. The pain is probably unbearable, but you'll be fine, you say you stretch so put a  hot damp towel on it, and relax a bit. The best you can do for a pulled muscle is to warm it, and leave it.  


  2. despite the fact that you are very active and love to be active, you should try taking a break for about a week and give your muscles a rest.  Try icing it one day and then applying heat the next day.

  3. Maybe you're not warming up and stretching well enough before running. You might also just be getting older. Once you get older everything will hurt.
