  1. the red wire on the stereo is basically ur hot the yellow wire is the wire that allows the radio to keep its memory. whom ever hooked it up for you tied these two wires to the same hot lead.

  2. does this happen when you turn on and off you car if so this means you have a short some where on check all fuses and radio wiring. if they wont stay set usually all you have to do is find the station then hold down the number that you want it to be set at and hold it till it beeps or blinks.

  3. Simple....

    1.  Set the tuner to the station you want

    2.  Hold down the button (1-6) where you want to store that station for 2 seconds

  4. because it was installed incorrectly. One of the wires is for retaining "memory" and is supposed to connect to an "always on" circuit, Not "switched"

  5. There should be 2 power leads connected to the radio.  One that only has power when the ignition is on, another that always has power.  The one that should always have power is not connected properly.

The power lead that always has power keeps your radio memory and clock working when the ignition is turned off.  You either failed to make this connection, or have it connected to a circuit that is off when the ignition is off.

The other lead that should be connected to a circuit that has power only when the ignition is on powers the radio and CD player.
