When i shut my laptop lid down how can iu change the settings cus it just shuts down?

If You Have Windows , It Shouldn't Do That But Go On SutDown And StandBy Then Close The Lid , Maybe Thats What You Need To Do,

Go into your control panel (start, settings, control panel) and then go to Power Options.

Under "Advanced", adjust the "When I close the lif of my portable computer:" option to suit your preferences.

Right click on your desktop, select properties, then go to the screen-saver tab in the properties window.

Select the power-options button, then go to the advanced tab, all the options for changing what your computer does when the lid is shut are found here.

It should go to sleep rather than shut down. There should be options in the power management settings but we'd need a lot more info to help properly. For starters Mac or PC? Operating System etc.
