Question:

When i start my bike it sticks open?

The throttle cable is working ok, carb moving free nothing sticking, no gunk or dirt in carb, everthing seems to be working ok, the bike is a 1980 suzuki er 250, any ideas.................

  1. I would spray a lubricant  on the carburetor throttle body (where the cable and butterfly meet)Good Luck.


  2. idle s***w to high, or choke stuck in partial closed position. even timming can be off causing it to race.

    When you say sticking, do you mean carb sticks or engine rev's

  3. sounds like a stuck float try tapping on the carb lightly

  4. If your bike has a constant velocity carb, the throttle slide could be binding or stuck.  With CV carbs, there's no direct connection between the throttle cable and the throttle slide.

  5. sounds like your bike needs the gas valvew turned on because your going full throttle because your leaning out your mixture, took me a while to figure it out on mine, if i forgot to turn it on very soon after it went crazy, or when i would run out of fuel and would lean out.
