When i try to install my brother dcp-115c printer,when it comes to a page where it says plug in the usb ?

cable to the pc and the machine and then it tells me to switch the machine on and wait for the installation process to continue.i did plug in the usb cable as stated but the installation does not continue,i tried several times but nothing happens

any suggestions to what this might be

any help will be appreciated

Try rebooting machine with USB cable out and printer off

When rebooted plug USB cable in and turn machine on

Windows should then come up with new hardware found and proceed to set it up. If it does not uninstall driver "Control Panel / device drivers \.

Right click printer and uninstall

then try again with printer disconnected
