Question:

When i try to restring my acoustic guitar the strings touch the neck as they get tighter?

so when i fret there is no sound.. i am restringing correctly. i dont know what the deal is.

  1. I dont know what type of acoustic you have, but do you have a removable bridge and/or saddle (the part the strings rest against on the body that lifts them above the body)?

    If so, did you forget to put it back on? Sometimes the correct answer is the dumbest, simplest and most obvious ;)

    Wow, I used to deal with that company 20 years ago. I n either case, do you have the white bridge saddle at the back of the bridge or did you forget to put it ...Lol

    That is the only way it can happen if you did not put that white bone strip in the slot.

    The neck should have a little dip of 1/16" (curve) when you look at it from the top and looking towards the 7th fret. Their should be a distance between the string and the fingerboard.
