I am saying it is like when you use a camcorder to film a pc or tv screen, and black bars go down the screen, it is similar in that the video files have white transparent looking bars going down the screen. I don't know what i have done to cause this, or how to rectify it. Any suggestions please tell me.

  1. I kinds need more information such as video player software etc. Make sure that you have the correct codecs installed. Codec is a program that enables you to properly watch videos in diferent types of format.

Let me know if you still need further help

  2. Sounds like you need a new video card

If it's a laptop, you're out-o-luck if your video card is going bad. It's integrated onto the motherboard and can't be removed or replaced.

Only way you can cheaply replace the card is if you have a desktop. Look at the back of your computer, look for where you plug your monitor into the computer. If it is down towards the bottom where there are a few slots, that means that you can unplug the video card and plug a new one in. If it is at the top on the side where most USB and Ethernet ports are... it's integrated onto the motherboard.

I had some info on there before that I mislead you about... so I removed it.

If your video card is integrated and you have a desktop you can still plug a new video card in... you just have to have open slots at the bottom there. A lot of manufactured computers give you at least one open slot... they're called PCI ports. Make sure you have an open one and go to a site like newegg and shop around. If it's really new the motherboard MAY have PCI express slots... they're longer than standard PCI slots... you have to check on the inside of your computer, take the side panel off (should unscrew at the back, or have a little lever like most older DELLs have). Towards the back at the bottom if you see any colorful slots that are longer than the gray slots there, then you have PCI express and can use almost any video card you want. But if you only have the gray slots, that means you only have standard PCI slots, and in which case you have to shop around to find an older style video card.

If you have a desktop and don't find any other solutions u can message me with any questions.
