  1. Yeah that happened to me with my daughter.. it sounds to me that you are starting to dry up! Good Luck!

  2. It may be the type of pump you are using. Medela, although more expensive than others, is a great pump. I use the Pump in Style Advanced. I've also used the Lanisoh pump, although it wasn't as effective and took a bit longer to pump, it still got the job done.

This may be TMI, but you also need to massage while you do it, it'll help. Also, you shouldn't pump for more than 20 minutes, it's counterproductive after that long.

My son is 8 months old and I've been able to feed him exclusively through pumping.

  3. See the doctor;  hope you don't have mastitis.  If so, you will have to stop breast feeding, and take an anti-biotic.  So for sure, you need the doctor to tell you.

  4. Some women do not react well to a pump but can easily nurse their children.

Try to get what you can out. make sure you use a hospital grade pump and pump for 15-20 minutes.

  5. You are not drying up!!! Breast pumps are not capable of getting the amount of milk out of the breast as your baby. Some woman are just unable to pump. I have been breastfeeding for 7 months now and when I go to pump I can get MAYBE an ounce out of each side.

The best thing that you can do to increase the amount that you pump is to pump right after a feeding. You will not get a lot of milk right then but since milk is  supply and demand the more stimulation to your b*****s the more milk you will get in the long run.
