When i turn on my computer, something happened and idk what but all the icons and the start button disappeared

There's is nothing you can click on to go to, everything disappeared, what happened? And the only thing i can access is the internet, when i type in "Alt, Ctrl, Delete" and the task pane appears and click on "new task". But what caused all the icons to disappear?
