  1. may be coz of more start up items in ur  list ..

as far as i know .. go to RUN .. type msconfig .. then go to start up ..

Remove all the programs ..which u dont need .. if its a desktop . u need only ur antivrus . and ur Audio drivers at the startup .. RTHDCPL ( if its a realtek driver ) .. For laptops . dont delete the drivers .. relating to Webcam .. and etc .. it creates a lot confusion afterwards ..

  2. Press:  Ctrl  Alt  Delete  together and a box will appear.

    Processes is the second choice.

You can see what is running and disable or un-install the ones you don't want.

CC Cleaner is a great program and has a startup option rather than the msconfig.

It lists the programs in more detail.

  3. try these links. Windows Care Personal is freeware and does the job for me. It does registry, start up progams and several other tools Then try housecalls at trendmicro.com. Run the complete system scan. When it completes remove what ever it finds in the results tab. A lot get fooled and install the antivirus program. Housecalls is a online scan that is java based and runs from the browser. That is all you want to do.
