When i visit Ireland what areas should i go too thanks?

I am mainly looking for history and sightseeing and a quiet nice holiday but not to quiet

I've been all over Ireland, and prefer Southern Ireland the best.  Cork and the Ring of Kerry were two of my favorite areas. The scenery is very beautiful, and there are plenty of historical sights/castles in the area.  There are also a lot of interesting archeological sites. Blarney castle and the Druid gardens are not to be missed.  Waterford and the crystal gallery is also very interesting.  A small tram takes you around to the factory and each step of the glass blowing process is demostrated.  Southern Ireland (Cork City especially) also offers plenty of shopping, music and pubs.

I can't really say what the best time of year for travel is.  I've been to Ireland in both Spring and Winter, and it rained both times.  It actually seemed a bit drier in Winter, believe it or not.  We had about 4 days of sun, but it was colder (around 40 degrees F. in the daytime).  Summer (June-August) is probably the warmest time, but rain is still highly likely.

You absolutely must go to Dingle on the Dingle Peninsula. Take a ride out to the Great Blasket Island. Absolutely breathtaking. Take a ride on Slea Head Drive and check out the archaeoligical tours. Trust me on this. The town is fantastic on its own but with the history and the scenary, it's just beautiful.

I went in early July and it was quite warm and hardly rained. From what I hear this is unusual. It was about 75 - 80 degrees each day and sunny.

I would recomend the west of ireland for example galway. You get the beauty of the countryside/ seaside as well as the city. there are numerous historical and cultural sites in this area. as well the gaeltacht which is one of the only fully irish(gaelt) speaking areas.

I think summer is best time to go to galway as you have the galway arts festiva,l galway races,and the oyster festival. At this time of year galway is the most alive. And you can always escape to area near by like the burren in co. clare.
