  1. Personally I always knew I was adopted but if you're interested in joining forums to discuss your experience, google late-discovery adoptees. Or join us at http://www.adultadoptees.org/forum/

We're very welcoming and friendly and there's probably some late-discovery adoptees on there who know what you're going through.

Sorry to hear about what you've been put through.

  2. Wow, I am so sorry to hear that you never found earlier. I wasn't adopted, my father was. I've known all my life that my father was adopted but if I found out now that he was and I didn't know earlier? I wouldn't even know what to think.  My heart goes out to you.

  3. Can't imagine the horror. I always knew but parents hid other things about my adoption from me and i found that angering and confusing enough as it is...Good luck, I hope you have someone you can talk to.

  4. My grandma was never told that she was a foster child, they told her she was adopted and they added different names before and after her real name cuz they can't legal change your name if your not adopted. I tell you one thing that really sucks, I would really want to know who i was related to, whether my mom had good reasons for giving me up or not i would still want to know, and wouldn't be angry, but at least to know if you have relatives out there right. Sorry about your situation, good luck in your future.

  5. It's terrible to find out at such a late age - that your whole life has been a lie.

    I'm so sorry.

Here is a website for LDA's (Late Discovery Adoptees) -

(not currently working - but try later - )

    www.latediscovery.org

Also the adoptee forum - has many members that found out late also -

    http://www.adultadoptees.org/forum/index...

I've always known - but much of my information was always kept a secret.

It's horrible when you don't know your truth.

    You are absolutely not alone.

I wish you all the very best.
