  1. Several manufacturers, especially Honda, made them to make riding easier to learn and enjoy.

The clutch was semi-automatic with a feature built in the shift cam to disengage the clutch during shifts, but allowed automatic operation from a stop.

    I had a Honda 50 Step-thru and a Trail 55 that had that feature.

Lifan (China) makes clones of the Honda engines but I have no experience with them personally.

    Budd

  2. Semi-automatics are still made today.

Most ATVs are semi automatic - 4-5 speed transmission (shift gears) with an automatic clutch.

You've been away from motorcycles to long.

    2008 & 2009 Yamaha TT-R50E - 3 speed (shift gears) automatic clutch.

    Yamaha TT-R110E - 4 speed w/automatic clutch

  3. now lets have the question

  4. what are you asking.

  5. I have an old Honda Passport scooter with that type of transmission, except it only has 3 gears. There's a centrifugal clutch, like on a go-kart, that engages when you accellerate and disengages when youlet off the gas to shift.

  6. They made some bikes with an automatic clutch you can still find them around but they are mostly on the made in China bikes I don't know if Honda or any of the other good bikes still produce them or not

  7. it's called a 'semi-automatic'... you'l find them on alot of kids bikes... as they can and often do have difficulty mastering clutch control at that young of an age.

  8. Honda 90 or 110. Centrifugal clutch
