I'm considering buying and iPhone 3G in Switzerland, but im leaving Switzerland in 12 months to go living in Denmark, can I buy and iPhone 3G 12-month subscription and when it runs out cancel my deal with Orange/Swisscom and use any SIM card (danish SIM card)? Or if I buy and iPhone without subscription will it then be unlocked so I can use any SIM card?

  1. As far as I know the 3G iPhone has not been successfully unlocked yet.  The subscription (or contract) has absolutely nothing to do with the device being locked or unlocked that is something that is done when the device is manufactured.  If the device is somehow unlocked this voids the warranty and if something happens to it Apple will not honor it

  2. I've got myself a 3G iPhone at this site, also bought a nice case for it there...Take a look, it might get you an answer.
