  2. Just drink the water, you get sick then you get sick. Have fun in paris.

  3. I have relations who live in Paris and when I visit them, we drink the water out of one of those purifiers.  So it's just normal tap water but put into one of those jugs that has a filter (sorry I really can't remember the name of them).  I think it's safe enough to drink ... if you ever go to Spain though don't drink the water there!

If you're in any doubt then drink bottled water or boil your water (and let it cool) before you drink it.

  4. I was born in Paris and used to live there. To my knowledge there's no advisory against Paris tap water. Are you perhaps thinking of Mexico? Do you have any sources concerning this alleged advisory?

  5. Western Europe tap water is probably better than US tap water. They solved their contamination problems more than 30 years ago.

  6. Don't worry... Paris is not the west of Zanzibar...

Tapwater is very carefully watched over and it can perfectly be drunk! I can even say that it comes directly from deep natural water reservoir, and is is perfectly pure and very good to drink.

However, if I were at your place, I would prefer the excellent Bordeaux wine!

  7. Do you drink tap water in Mexico? I never drink tap overseas. Always bottled.

  8. Main sources of water in Paris are natural sources under Paris which give in some districts a wonderful free mineral-water - otherwise the water that you get at the tap is recycled water through decantation proceedures - of which french concerns such as Lyonnaise des Eaux, Veolia and Aventis are world masters - Mexico city which was a real huge cesspool has been entirely re-equipped by french engineering -

Even Chlorine excess has disappeared in french ( parisian ) tap water since the recycled water is daily tested  and tasted -

Only one restriction if you're high tea or coffee connoisseur, use Volvic water which is 0% calcareous - that's what I do

  9. Of course I drink the tap water in Paris.  France is not some 3rd world country you know!  I also drink tap water in Spain, Italy, England, Wales, Scotland, and Belgium.
