When in carnival in Rio this year? Exact dates please?

It is held annually 40 days before Easter at the beginning of Lent.  Since Easter for 2007 is on April 8, it would be on February 27th.

The holiday will take place 17-20 February. If you are interested in the famous Carnival parade in Sapucaí Avenue, they traditionally happen over two nights, half of the "samba schools" parading on Sunday and the other on Monday evening.

There are other types of Carnival events and parties going on in the city and all over the country; so please be specific. And also make your bookings ASAP!
