Question:

When in doubt just pick 'C'?

Just something that's been in my head since High School. Why do they tell you "when in doubt, just pick 'c'? Is there really any basis to this theory? Surely someone who picks 'C' all the way through can't pass.

Does anybody know when that 'theory' started and why?

Thanks :)

  1. My understanding of "When in doubt pick C." is that it is common for a test maker to pick C as an answer because they are 'hiding' the correct answer before 2 false answers which may throw the test taker off.

  2. i actually think that alot of the harder questions are the answer C, but that could be just my imagination. haha. but im not sure, i dont think theres really any basis to it, but it usually works for me.

  3. no, but if i have no idea what an anwser is i pick C

this guy in my history class did that on a test last year and got a 42% tho. lol, it raised his grade up 6%
