When installing a carpet......(HELP)?

Question

ok when you are going to install a carpet, what do you need besides the carpet tile?

Do i need carpet padding? What is that?

Also can i please get a link to a whole selection of carpet padding, its for a math project, having trouble finding one. Link to preferably Home depot or Lowes.

Hi, i may not be able to help much but I will try.  I work at Mohawk industries(carpet). I do not install but I have seen it done. If this is carpet tile then no you do not need padding.  You will however need this certain type of glue-don't ask me what kind...You may try the website on that--Mohawk industries.com. Hope I helped a little.
