  1. In the wild budgies breed when the crops are real good. They eat the grain to feed to their babies. Daylight hours have no bearing on budgies. They pretty much have the same amount of of daylight hours year round. So breeding season is when they feel like they are getting enough to eat to be able to feed a nest of babies.

  2. Usually spring, like a lot of other animals, when the weathers warm but not hot, and there is an abundance of sunlight, food, and water. But, Budgies will breed any time of year if the conditions are right. If you have your birds indoors as pets, you can replicate the conditions easily and have them breed whenever you wish.

  3. Budgie are not South American birds. They are Aus birds. They will breed year round under the right conductions. Have fun and enjoy your new bird.
