When is Dachshund Day in NYC?

I've heard about a "Dachshund Day" that takes place yearly somewhere in NYC. I've tried to google it but haven't been able to find out when and where it is. Does anyone know about this?

DACHSHUND OCTOBERFEST

The 2008 Dachshund Octoberfest will be held on the first Saturday in October at Twelve noon. It is usually held in Washington Square Park but keep checking this site for the exact location. The event is free and open to all.
